The Production Process Explained
Once orders are received, we begin sourcing any required leather and non-leather materials from our REACH compliant partners. We then enter into the labor intensive aspect of our production process. Our raw materials (including fittings), works-in-progress and finished goods change hands at various levels to successfully enter their final stage as thoroughly inspected, top-of-the line, high-quality goods, handcrafted by our artisans with love and care.
SOURCING & INSPECTION
Leathers are sourced from a number of local and non-local tanneries. They are further inspected to determine grade of leather and any rejectable defects.
SKIVING & SPLITTING
Cut leather is then sent to the skiving or splitting departments, as required, to ensure that all components of our leather goods are consistent and appealing.
THE FINISHING TOUCH
Once production & assembly of our leather goods is completed, it is coated with a finishing touch using dyes and polishing wax and are dried right before the goods move to the checking process
SAMPLING & PROTOTYPING
Sample prototypes are designed, by our in-house development team, to ascertain dimensions in order to develop the right tools and dyes
FABRICATION & ASSEMBLY
All parts that have been processed through the cutting and skiving departments are then sent to our team of fabricators who begin assembly. This also includes RFID.
CHECKING & ALTERATION
All our finished leather goods undergo an intensive checking process where we isolate those that are just as they ought to be and others that require alteration or should just be rejected.
DEVELOPMENT & CUTTING
Sourced leathers are then cut into different shapes and sizes depending on the sample developed using custom cutting knives.
EMBOSSING & INKING
Embossing and edge inking are done at the various times during the production process and even right after assembly, if required.
PACKING & SHIPMENT
After checking the goods thoroughly, our packing team lines the shipment cartons with anti-fungal stickers & silica gel to prevent the development of fungus caused due to humidity. This allows the goods to stay fresh and ready for receipt at our clients' end.
